Material Properties
Optical performance: N-BK7 glass is made of borosilicate material, with a transmittance of over 92% in the visible to near-infrared wavelength range (400-2000nm), and can reach 99% after coating with an anti reflective film. Its dispersion coefficient (Abbe number ν d ≈ 64.17) can effectively suppress color cast and is suitable for multi wavelength optical signal processing.
Mechanical stability: Strong impact resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance (except hydrofluoric acid), suitable for industrial and outdoor environments.
Typical Applications
Laser technology: used for optical signal reflection and transmission in laser ranging and fiber optic communication, such as the use of corner prism retroreflectors to achieve high-precision optical path reflection.
Industrial testing: The packaged light guide block (such as an aluminum alloy shell) can adapt to vibration environments and is used in scenarios such as robot guide rails and precision instrument calibration.
Laboratory equipment: As the core component of optical instruments such as microscopes and spectrometers, it supports high-precision requirements for λ/8 surface flatness.
Precautions
Cleaning and maintenance: Use a soft cleaning cloth and specialized cleaning agent to clean and avoid scratching the surface.
Storage environment: Store in a dry, well ventilated environment to prevent moisture and mold.
Usage: During use, avoid severe vibration and collision to avoid affecting its optical performance.
